  • Example 2Expanding lineup of frozen foods

We are expanding our lineup of frozen food products, which can be stored for long periods of time, in order to reduce waste at stores and food product waste at home.

  • Example 3Expanding lineup of prepared pouch food

We are taking steps to further reduce food waste by reducing the volume of our prepared pouch food so that the contents can be fully consumed by even a small number of people.

Initiatives for product purchasing and sales

  • Example 4Relaxing delivery deadlines

Working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and our suppliers, the Seven & i Group is revising delivery deadlines for the purpose of reducing food waste.

    About delivery deadlines
The general rules for storage periods at manufacturers (delivery deadlines) have been established based on long-standing business practices, but by revising them and extending the deadlines for wholesalers and retailers, we are reducing the volume of food that goes to waste due to their deadlines passing.

  • Example 5Labeling dates with the month and year

Labeling dates with the month and year instead of the day, month and year is helping to reduce food waste.
